Chicago Artist Mark McMahon Receives 2006 MALC Award of Excellence Sunday, May 7th, 2006

The Municipal Art League of Chicago will be hosting its annaul Spring Awards Presentation on Sunday, May 7th, 2006  from 1 to 3 pm, in Gar Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center (access building on Randolph Street side).  This year's Award of Excellence will be presented to Chicago area artist Mark McMahon.  The event is open to the public, and will feature chamber music and refreshments.  For more information on the event please email info@municipalartleagueofchicago.org .

Every year the Municipal Art league of Chicago presents the Award of Excellence to an area artist that has shown outstanding qualities in the field of visual arts, painting or sculture. Past recipients of this award include among many others Richard Hunt, Alex Jaworski, Charles Vickery, and Franklin McMahon (father of this year's recipient Mark McMahon).

Opening reception and award ceremony, Saturday, May 13, 2006 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Beverly Arts Center.  The competition, sponsored by MALC, is open to artists residing in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.  Deadline for entries was March 13, 2006.

Rudolph Ohrning AWS is a Chicago based watercolor artist with an enviable cultural reputation that extends beyond the USA.  A member of the American Watercolor Society since 1965 and a Laureate of The Municipal Art League of Chicago.
